Did you watch the Oscars last night?
It seemed like the whole world was holding their breath for Leonardo DiCaprio. Would he finally win the award for his top notch performances time and time again? Would he finally get the recognition he had been longing for?
A number of renowned magazines put his career at around the 25 year mark where he has acted in almost 50 movies, 15 of which have been critically acclaimed. Many of his peers have stated how well deserved this award was for a stellar acting career over the years, continually giving his best. But still there was a delay. Why?
Sometimes we ask God this question. When will it be my time? I work so hard, and am more deserving than others who have not done much at all. I have been told that I am doing excellently, where is the recognition?
Many times this delay is preparation for the actual prize, the responsibility that is attached to the blessing. And sometimes it is just not time yet. Would we truly appreciate the honor without the struggle? Probably not.
Leo did it, you can do it.
May we have the grace to be patience in such moments. Your time will come!
"Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for the things you need, always giving thanks for what you have." - Philippians 4: 6-7
